Do you want the opportunity to stretch your communication skills and work on a variety of projects? The Missouri State Teachers Association is looking for a dynamic and talented professional to serve as our Communication Coordinator. The Communication Coordinator will approve and oversee our website content. This individual will assist our managing editor in writing and editing for all MSTA publications including our quarterly magazine, “School & Community.”  The ideal candidate would also have some design and layout experience and be able to assist our designer periodically throughout the year.

 

The position requires the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The candidate must be flexible, creative and patient in response to a demanding workload; demonstrate creativity and a passion for writing about and for educators. The candidate will possess exceptional written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have the minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or related/equivalent experience. Must be willing to relocate to Columbia, Mo., area. Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of WordPress
  • Working knowledge of InDesign and other Adobe Suite Products
