Presidential Debate Watch Party

Join the J-School and to watch the first presidential debate on Wednesday, October 3.
The J-School is co-hosting a Presidential Debate Watching with Patch.Com and Hollings Library.

Doors to the Hollings Room will open at 7:30.

Ernest F. Hollings Special Collections Library is located at the south side of the main Thomas Cooper Library. Enter by the bridge at the opposite end of the main floor from the Thomas Cooper entrance.
You enter the regular library entrance and walk through the library till you get to Hollings (straight back).

8:00-8:30 – Matt Moore and Amanda Loveday, Executive Directors of the State Republican and Democratic Parties will preview the debate.

Our own political guru, Dean Charles Bierbauer, will provide important background to the preparation involved in getting ready for a debate. This is a great chance to meet the Dean, who covered politics for years in DC. He is a great speaker.

8:30-9:00–The people from Patch will instruct the audience on how we’ll have an opportunity to respond in real time to the debate. Patch will be reporting on Twitter during the event.

9:00-10:30 The debate happens.

10:30-10:45. Wrap up.

Watching the debate with people from both sides of the aisle will be a richer experience than watching it alone in a dorm room!
