Sabin Vaccine Institute (Sabin) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization of scientists, researchers
and advocates dedicated to reducing needless human suffering caused by vaccine preventable
and neglected tropical diseases. Sabin works with governments, leading public and private
organizations, and academic institutions to provide solutions for some of the world’s most

Program Summary:
The Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases, a major program of Sabin, is an advocacy
initiative dedicated to raising the awareness, political will and funding necessary to control and
eliminate the most common neglected tropical diseases (NTDs)–a group of disabling,
disfiguring and sometimes deadly diseases affecting more than 1.4 billion people worldwide

Position Summary:

on END7, a fast-paced campaign changing the status quo of how global health organizations
use social media.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide support for social media outreach (Global Network blog, Facebook, Twitter,
Google+, LinkedIn, Youtube)
• Create fun, interactive strategies for how to communicate with new & existing followers
• Stay up-to-date on the latest social media trends
• Track relevant social media coverage and use appropriate metrics for analysis
• Support various community building efforts (student targets, organizational targets, etc.)
• Update, and website content as needed
• Provide overall administrative support for End7 program
• Provide logistical and administrative support/staffing for Global Network events
• Social media/digital/web experience required
• Ability to craft witty, effective social media content a must
• Superior writing skills
1• Strong communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent organizational skills
• Superior formatting and editing detail on programs such as Word, Excel and Power
• Enjoys working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment
• Knowledge of and interest in public health, international development or a related field
• InDesign skills a plus
• Must be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week for 3-5 months, beginning in
August 2012
