PublicSource is an independent news organization supported by The Pittsburgh Foundation, the Heinz Endowments, the R.K. Mellon Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation to do in-depth reporting in the public interest.
PublicSource is seeking a social media and marketing expert to reach out and engage the Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania news audience. The candidate must have an entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrate creative abilities to increase traffic to this investigative and in-depth news website.
The right candidate will have experience in journalism or new media, excellent written and verbal skills, and a finely honed knowledge of social networking channels, interactive marketing analytics and how to execute a web strategy. Familiarity with online branding and search techniques is a plus.
The person will report to the PublicSource Editor in Chief and the Web Director and will be responsible for daily posts to social media and some training of PublicSource staff members.
One to three years of experience in this or a related field is preferred.
