The School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina is searching for someone to join the faculty of a new and growing visual communications program.
The School has both academic and professional tracks. Academic-track candidates must have a Ph.D. (ABD’s considered) and some professional and/or teaching experience. Professional-track candidates must have the MFA and significant professional experience.
The ideal candidate for either the academic or professional tracks would have teaching competencies in visual communication theory, history and practice and demonstrated skills in the design, development and delivery of web and mobile media content for news, commercial or non-profit audiences.
Applicants for the academic track should demonstrate an appropriate record of scholarly research and be willing to contribute to the development of the graduate program at the masters and doctoral levels.
