Immediate opening for a full-time staff photographer at the Daily
Republic, a 19,000-circulation newspaper in Fairfield, Calif. The
hire will be part of a staff of three full-time photographers and two
part-time image techs/photographers. The qualified applicant must be
a strong and dynamic visual communicator with practical
photojournalism experience, be able to work in a team environment
with a positive attitude and have a passion for community journalism.
The candidate needs to be able to shoot and generate in-depth photo
and multimedia projects, which are a regular feature of the
newspaper. The ability to process and caption photos efficiently
using Photoshop is required, as are multimedia skills, including
experience with Final Cut. Experience with WordPress is helpful.
Preference will be given to in-state candidates. The Daily Republic
is a family owned newspaper covering the city of Fairfield and
surrounding communities, including Travis Air Force Base. Fairfield
is a diverse Bay Area city of 105,000 located halfway between San
Francisco and Sacramento on Interstate 80. Send cover letter, resume
